ROBERTO CAVALLI
This month we feature legendary fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.
Known as the king of prints, he has dressed celebrities and stars for
generations. In the early 2000's Cavalli rose to global fame.
Women all over the world were craving the Cavalli look. His ready to
wear was exotic, bold & daring. Cavalli was also the architect of the
wash jean. You know that fade in the front of jeans that we all used to
wear back in the early 2000's. That was Roberto's creation.
Roberto was the king of the animal print. His love with animals
inspired many of his work, making it easy to identify a Cavalli piece.
Roberto struggled with making a hit in the menswear sector.
His menswear line was a success during his tenure however not as
powerful as his women's collection. While creative director Roberto
opened boutiques all around the globe, the Cavalli lifestyle became
one of glamour, party, excitement and sexiness. His St. Tropez,
Miami style of beauty left everyone wanting in on the action.
Roberto was the red carpet go to for decades. He leaves behind his
brand, yet no longer a designer nor an executive. The brand today
reflects his visions and DNA he created. The brand continues to
show modern takes on the Cavalli archives. His catwalks were
stunning, every season a fresh celebrity face. The genius of Roberto
will forever be loved by the fashion community.

"I would like the people that buy my clothes to understand that for me it's one small piece of art."
